As I See It: Perspective Matters: Why Addressing Sin Outweighs More Laws

  • サマリー

  • As I see it, I’m Andy Parrish. Between 2008 and 2021, 379 people have tragically died taking selfies. That’s right, hundreds of lives lost in the pursuit of that perfect Instagram moment. Now compare that to the number of kids killed in school shootings during that same time period. According to the data, between 170 and 190 children have tragically lost their lives in school shootings over those 13 years. We hear about school shootings constantly, as we should. It’s a horrifying reality. But it’s also a reminder to us that sin and evil are an undeniable part of the human condition. No law, no regulation, no political agenda, and no political party can solve the root of these violent acts, which is our sinful nature. This isn’t to downplay the tragedy in Madison, but to remind us of the power of perspective. More laws have not been the answer in the past, and I doubt they will be in the future. Addressing sin and recognizing evil will make a difference. I’m Andy Parish on WIZM.
