  • Rediscovering American History: One Bite at a Time

I started this project after realizing that most political discussions I was part of turned into history lectures whenever someone claimed "nothing like this has ever happened in American History" or "This is what THE founding fathers said," as if they all agreed on everything.

When I looked for history on Netflix or other streaming services, I found a glaring absence. Sure, there's the occasional Hitler documentary or a World War II series, but there's virtually nothing capturing the breadth of our history. Most Americans' understanding seems limited to the founding fathers creating some things, Lincoln being great, our victory in WW2, and perhaps a few details about the civil rights movement in the '60s and the present.

History isn't born in a vacuum; the founders didn't have a eureka moment out of nowhere. They studied history, absorbed lessons from philosophers, and built something new from the wisdom of the past.

What I aim to create for you with this podcast is a bite-sized, approachable dive into history for the non-history buff. My goal is to help you learn and stay connected with your history.

My goal is to give you American political history from 1600 to the present. With the prospective of the people and politics of that time. So that we can understand their achievements, gain wisdom from their mistakes and revere their contributions to the culture and society we get to inherit today.
