  • THE PROMISE!
    2024/12/13

I was born in a village in Egypt called Meet Sweed (Port of Sweed), a small village in the heart of the Delta. with one street, one bridge, one river, one school, one mosque, and one cemetery! I left my beloved village with my family for Cairo when I was 14 and finished school and military service. Most nightmares come from the city, and dreams come from the village. When I was 26 years old, I left for America, worked, studied, married, and had a daughter, a TV program, and a blog. In a way, I became famous but not many people know that. Since then, I have traveled back and forth from my two homes for many years. Over 24 years ago, on one of my visits to Egypt, I went to visit the village as usual, and especially to the cemetery to pay my respects to my parents, who passed away in the late 80s. The cemetery is located on the outskirts of the village near a big mulberry tree, which had survived all this time. We called it the Dokr (الدكر-the male.) If you get to the Dokr (الدكر ( on your own, it was a sign of adulthood, like smoking, then climbing the dokr, you are a Dokr, a man, …! I have been working on a film a documentary about the Coptic Man who lived in my village and was buried in my family cemetery. As I was walking toward the cemetery with my camera, I spotted a few children playing by the big Mulberry tree, three girls and a boy of the tender ages of 8 to 11. The boy was climbing the tree, and the girls were dumping water in the “el Mashrooua” the project by the tree.

Over 15 years later, one day, as I’m working on my film documentary, I found the video file hidden inside a big file. I had promised to tell these children’s story, unlike the OMO man, I’m keeping my promise! Now, I'm writing to you not sure what to make of this or how you feel about the dirt that the OMO man put on the cleaning brand. However, I want to work on this story and go back to Egypt to look for these village kids after all these years.
These children deserve their stories told, and their voices heard. Help me fulfill my promise by supporting my journey back to Egypt. Sign this petition and be part of bringing light to their lives once more!

  • OCTOBER 7, KILLING OF A CEO, TOPPLING OF ASSAD RIGIME
    2024/12/11

“Deny,” “defend” and “depose, the words” found written on shell casings that were shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson by a gunman in New York City on Wednesday. The gunman became a national folk hero and a social media sensation. The reactions on social media, X (Twitter) and TikTok videos, were not kind, and according to some official and media pundits mean-spirited that reflect mockery and resentment toward the CEO and private Healthcare Insurance industry; “your thoughts and pray were denied,” tweeted one to the CEO family. Standup comic Samantha Ruddy wrote in her own X post. “I personally do not feel like I am on the shooter’s radar because I am not the CEO of a highly divisive multi-billion dollar insurance company.” Right-wing podcaster Tim Pool, suggests that Americans across the political spectrum can find rare consensus when it comes to disdain for their free-market health care system.” This reaction shows that we are more United than we may think: The ruling class manufacturing differences among us, racism, transgender bathrooms, refugees eating our dogs and cats, Islamophobia, class welfare, and sexism. The killing of the Healthcare CEO brought America together. We all despise private Healthcare insurance and greedy CEOs, Killing and violence traditionally targeted toward politicians, now CEO, and wealthy Americans, as the Times put it all on edge now! People are rising against the ruling class, resisting oppression and exploitation, they want a voice in things that affect their lives and are becoming more vocal. From the October 7 attack, Syrian rebels’ brazen war that toppled the most brutal, savage Arab regime. Assad and his family fled to Mosco; student protests against genocide in Gaza, and two assassination attempts on Trump.

    2024/12/10

what is happening in Syria, the latest people to rise in the Arab Spring, the most peaceful one, was crushed by forces and brutal, savage violence, killing children, women, and the elderly, torturing and imprisoning 100,000,’s and forcing millions out of the country to become refugees. Now we are witnessing the beginning of Arab Spring02 where the sons and daughters whose fathers and mothers were killed, tortured, and imprisoned under the Assad savage regime for over 50 years come back with guns and tanks and a new vision for Syria; revolting against their oppressor, taking over their country in days forcing President Bashar Assad and his family fled to Moscow.

  • BACK TO TAHRIR SQUARE
    2024/12/04

    Egypt Today..

I just came back from an overdue visit to Egypt, since my last visit, I missed the funerals of three of my brothers. However, when I heard about my nephew’s wedding, I got my passport and ticket ready. Hussein is the twin of Hassan, who was kidnapped from the square during Rabaa’s disburses crackdown in 2013; he has been in prison ever since, Hassan was 17 years old. Hussein’s father died a year ago; Abdraafea would have loved to see his son out of prison and attend Hussein’s wedding. I have been actively campaigning to release my young nephew Hassan for over 10 years, started the Let My Nephew Go petition, calling congressmen and representatives, human rights organizations, and activists to no avail. So, attending Hussein’s wedding was, in a way, a homage to his imprisoned twin brother and his father’s wish. I tried getting a 24-hour furlough for Hassan to attend his twin brother’s wedding, but all advised against it, “You will open a can of worm, Ahmed.” Egypt is no country for humanitarian gestures.
