このコンテンツについて
Friday, May 30: In this episode of The Daily Grind, we explore the remarkable life of Benedict Biscop, a 7th-century Anglo-Saxon noble who gave up power and privilege to pursue a higher calling—preserving knowledge and beauty for the glory of God. Benedict founded the twin monasteries of Monkwearmouth and Jarrow, importing books, art, music, and architecture from Rome. His libraries became centers of Christian learning and helped train one of history’s greatest scholars: the Venerable Bede. Join us as we rediscover the “patron saint of libraries,” a forgotten hero whose love of learning changed the world.
