  • Nathan shares about how he came to know the Lord.  He didn’t grow up in a “church home” and was 17 before he was open to the idea of God.  In fact, he was only at the revival that day because he chased a skirt into church.  Even though he hadn’t been looking for God, God had been waiting for him.

We stayed baby Christians for many, many years, but slowly the transformation came.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
    Romans 12:2

When we were newly married, Nathan drove 45 minutes each way to work.  He filled his time listening to sermons and Mark Driscoll caught his attention.  This verse was one of his favorites:

“The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.  Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.”
    1 Corinthians 7:3-5
