It’s Omega vs Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 11. This was Kenny’s first shot at the big one after winning the G1 in 2016 and moving up to heavyweight. Okada was already established as the guy in New Japan, the standard bearer.The expectations were high and somehow they went above and beyond. This was the match that introduced a lot of Western fans to modern NJPW. We talk about what made this match such a moment in time and how wild it was to see Omega risk it all on the biggest stage. For Emily, it’s her first time seeing it, and she shares her honest reactions seeing this epic unfold in real time.
