このコンテンツについて

Darina Allen – one of Ireland's best known chefs, a TV Host and a cookbook author – has written many books, including Irish Traditional Cooking. Her cooking school is Ballymaloe in County Cork. The food in Ireland has become incredible, and much of that is due to Darina Allen. Then, our sommelier, Maureen Petrosky, talks us through pairing traditional Irish foods such as corned beef and cabbage with wine. Maureen Petrosky is the author of The Wine Club. Next, a conversation with Ted Reader about his new book King of the Q's Blue Plate BBQ. After, Jim Tarantino talks about one of the best parts of grilling: creating your own marinades, rubs, brines, cures and glazes. That's also the title of Jim Tarentino's book Marinades, Rubs, Brines, Cures and Glazes. Next, NPR commentator Bonny Wolf talks about regional and family food traditions, and her book Talking with My Mouth Full: Crabcakes, Bundt Cakes and other Kitchen stories. Then, Evelyn Raab helps us get teenagers cooking. She's written Clueless in the Kitchen: A Cookbook for Teens. Also, Rozanne Gold is a consulting chef for some of New York's most celebrated restaurants, and she explains how getting kids in the kitchen is as easy as 1-2-3. Her latest book is Kids Cook 1-2-3. Finally, James Murphy, head of Irish Studies at Villanova University, discusses the history of the Irish Potato famine and why so many Irish left. [Broadcast Date: March 8, 2007](P) and © 2007 WHYY
